Vern and crew at New Dawn Awning were SO awesome to work with! My wife and I just finished getting a bunch of exterior work done at the house with Total Landscape Concepts (TLC). When we spoke with David about wanting to put in a patio cover, he did not hesitate to recommend Vern and his crew at New Dawn. From the first instance Vern showed up I knew he would make this a painless experience. He's very upbeat, easy to talk to, and very knowledgeable when it comes to the patio cover we wanted to install. He is very clear in his explanation with no BS, identifying areas we might want to consider, what to avoid, and how everything would work through permitting with the city of Roseville. When it came to pricing, Vern's quote was the lowest (but close to the next) and included everything we wanted when compared to the other quotes we sourced. After signing the contract Vern kept us up to date on the material order, how permitting was progressing, and letting me know ahead of time when his crew would be ready (working around our new concrete and other exterior work). Normally the install for our cover (a 17' x 20' insulated with two fans) would take one day but they got a late start due to other jobs, so it extended into the next. I could not believe how fast this thing went up, and his crew was great to have at our house. If you are in the market for a patio cover or awning I would recommend New Dawn Awning every time. New Dawn Awning just completed our new metal 60ft awning on our patio in Roseville and it turned out fabulous! His workers tore out the old wooden awning and replaced it with their beautiful metal awning with wood grain look in 2 days on 113 heat in July! Looks spectacular and his workers as well as Vern Hayes himself completed this beautiful upgrade to our home with precision and expertise! Vern was amazing. His quote was one of the most competitive, and the quality of the work was amazing. I waited for a few rainy days before posting to make sure there were no leaks, but he did an amazing job. Can't wait to enjoy the view during summer. For those considering who to hire, I highly recommend going with this company because they are reliable, fair, and responsive. I worked with Vernon. He was the best. Super professional and knowledgable. He gave me a fair quote on the project i wanted done, so we went into contract that day. It took a while to get permits approved, but once we did they were done in 2 days (start to finish). It took a little longer becuase of all the electrical components we wanted. We recently had New Dawn Awning install a patio cover with fans as part of a major backyard renovation. Vern worked with us to come up with a design that provided the best coverage possible, placing the posts where they would least obstruct our view of the new pool. Although we didn't hire Vern directly (he was one our pool company's subcontractors), we were very pleased with his company's work. Recently when we decided to have a motorized sunshade installed on the patio cover, we reached out to Vern and asked him to install the electrical outlet we needed attached to the structure. Vern's flexibility and willingness to squeeze us into his busy schedule was much appreciated. I can't say enough good things about Vern, Johnny, and the rest of the crew at New Dawn Awning. We've been enjoying our new patio and awning for about a month now and can't express enough how much we are thrilled with the results. Vern and crew were fantastic to work with despite some challenges with coordinating across companies for the awning and pavers. Vern was professional, understanding and extremely helpful in initial setup and design considering the odd space and different levels we were working with. Once the time came, it only took Johnny and crew a day and a half to install while consulting with us on any questions they had for things like outlet placement and fan install. It took us 6 years to finally pull the trigger on a patio cover. We were so indecisive on how we wanted it to look. Vern walked us through our options and even understood our crazy vision. He gave me a timeline and stuck to it! Once material was received, everything was built in just 2 days! His team was very nice, professional and cleaned up everything after they were done. There is a reason why New Dawn Awning has so many great reviews. Vern and his crew were amazing! I could not be happier with their service. Vern is funny and kind and really knows what he's talking about! We got several quotes and Vern's was not only the most affordable, but he also had the best ideas for how to construct the awning. They did some custom work for us and the result was perfection!! I cannot recommend them highly enough!!! I can't say enough about how great Vern and his crew are to work with. We called Vern in December as our second bidder because of the reviews I saw here. He came in over $1,000 cheaper on the installation and was much more knowledgeable than the salesman the other company sent out. He suggested a very different layout than the first guy for very practical reasons (the first bidder was placing a support post in the center of the walkway to the side of the house, effectively cutting off its usefulness. Vern also included the installation of a customer-provided ceiling fan that would have cost an additional $450 from the first bidder (this is an additional savings above the $1,000 plus difference in price). Enough about the estimate and the bid. Vern said it should be installed in late January. He called January 25th to schedule it for Wednesday the 27th. Two hours later he called back to say he had time in his schedule to send a crew that day (Monday the 25th) if I wanted to get it started. Johnny, Bobby and Andre showed up around 1:00 and started. They wrapped up at 3:30 at a good stopping point and were completely finished by 10:00 this morning (Tuesday the 26th). I would recommend New Dawn Awning Company to anyone who is considering a patio cover. It was a true pleasure working with all of them from Vern through his entire crew.

Not only was New Dawn Awning the lowest bid, the expert installation crew knew exactly how to get the job done efficiently and in good humor.  It's always nice to work with a contractor who does even more than they promised!!  Corey provided a very detailed bid with some design ideas that we appreciated.  Even though they had several jobs ahead of ours, they were on the job on the exact day they promised.  We are so pleased with both the patio and spa area awnings.  They enhance the beauty of our backyard beyond our dreams!  The patio awning is 38' long and 15' wide.  No problem at all for the installation crew.  They also hung all the lights and fans and even provided the electrical to our fountain all done with nearly invisible (hidden) connection boxes. Vern is amazing. Its pretty cool these days when you call a company and the owner calls you back within a few hours. He came to my home showed me he work and we got everything lined up. We had a rough idea of what we wanted and he walked me through all of our options. It was too easy. The install went quick as well. He worked along side my landscapers at Cascading Falls to have everything done on schedule. I would highly recommend him and his staff if you are considering a patio cover. We have a new aluminum awning by New Dawn Awning on our patio and it stays so cool during the worst heat of the day here in the CA valley.  The owner is easy to work with and came out regularly to our job.  The workers are very careful not to do damage in tight quarters.   They start the job and work straight through and finish the job.  Prices are very good compared to other contractors, and the guys doing the work are courteous, friendly, and helpful.  We highly recommend Vern Hayes and his installers at New Dawn Awning.  Vern is one of the nicest and easiest to work with contractors you'll find.  We highly recommend Vern for all your awning needs. New Dawn Awning was awesome! Vern (owner) worked with me to build the perfect custom patio cover for our home in EDH. From day one, Vern came over and help provide options, feedback, and estimate for the duralum patio cover. Vern's estimate came in lower than most other estimates, and Vern really paid attention to detail and really made it a no brainer in partnering with New Dawn to complete our patio cover. Vern drew up the plans for our HOA approval and gave me a good understanding of next steps and what to expect. We scheduled our build out (3-4 weeks later) and Vern's team came showed up at 8am and completed the job by end of day. His awesome team worked their tales off and had our patio cover, ceiling fan installation and setup all done same day. These guys were great and did some specific last minute customizing for us to make the patio cover flow better with our yard. Just had a new patio cover installed by New Dawn. I don't leave yelp reviews very often but I'm very happy with my experience so I thought I would share. From the original estimate to the installation, every step was a positive experience. The patio cover looks Amazing and the icing on the cake was that they were the lowest bid by around $1,000. We wanted to have a new awning installed at our house. We did a fair amount of research on pricing and looked at various quotes and reviews from different vendors in the local  Sacramento, CA area. Some of the awning installers in the local area have pretty sketchy reviews, some of them that quoted for our install, didn't want to handle the building permit, or couldn't do all the electrical work, or had rough estimates on pricing. None of them gave us the sense that the work would be carried out to what we wanted for an awning. But we came across New Dawn Awnings and read the awesome reviews about them and their work. A friend of ours used Vern and his team to have their awning installed, so we took a look at theirs and looked at the quality of the work that Vern and his team does. They came highly recommended. So we called Vern and he promptly returned our call and arranged to drop round at our house to understand what we wanted. When he visited us, he went through all the options of color, finish, location, size, fan's, electrical work and the building permits that would be required, etc etc. After settling on what we wanted, he provided a firm quote for the work, that also included getting the relevant permit in place. Vern is a true professional, he never pushed anything on us and allowed us to make the right choice that met what we wanted. We asked if Vern wanted a deposit, and he responded, with "No, we don't need a deposit, just pay us in full once the installation is complete and you are happy with our work". For our awning, we required a local building permit before work commenced (which is about $600 in our area), we asked if we need to give him a check to cover the cost of the building permit since this is required before work commences. Vern again responded that he would cover the costs for the permit and that we could reimburse him for it, once the installation was completed. So we shook hands, and signed the written quote. Vern is a very busy man, and stated that he couldn't start the work for 6-7 weeks because of all the jobs he had in the pipeline with other customers. That was just fine with us, since we value, quality work over speed. A week or so before the deadline, Vern called us to arrange the set up the install date. They has already submitted the plans and paid up front for the building permit. They handled all the paperwork to get the go ahead for the install. When the guys turned up on time to do the install, it took them about five hours, they installed the sockets on the ends of the supporting beams. They even assembled the two fans that we purchased and completed that as part of the install. After the install, they cleaned up the work site and left it clean and tidy. After we came home from work to review the install, we were more than pleased. Everything was completed, there were no items that needed addressing and they did everything they promised to do. In summary, a no-nonsense, fantastic, quality job from stat to finish. Would I recommend Vern and his team, heck, yeah. If I could give them a higher score, I would. They are the best awning installer, by far in the local area. Okay, so we have been looking for a company to build our awning for over a year. We wanted quality and were willing to pay for it so we decided to go to the home show in Sacramento and see if we could find someone. Well, we ran in to some friends and started talking and they told us to go directly to New Dawn Awnings, and boy were they right. When we walked up we were greeted immediately by a positive customer orientated assistant, we also got meet Vern the owner.  Vern put us on the calendar for a quote.  He came over and was extremely knowledgable, we chatted for a while discussed options and layout and we were sold. It is very clear that Vern and his crew have a huge amount of experience. The price, well we had received previous estimates and he blew those out of the water. ( we did not discuss previous estimates before he gave us a quote). 6 weeks later the job was started and WOW. The 3 guys worked extremely efficiently and there experience was very evident. They took special pride in handling the extra little details that were not part of the process. The quality of workmanship is absolutely amazing and the end result was WAY ABOVE our expectations. We had a huge awning completed on the back and side of our house with fans installed and custom edging they both look absolutely amazing. I will start out by saying that Vern and I have become buds over the last 4 years or so. I met Vern when we owned a previous home and he did a 10x12 basic patio cover for our backyard.  We liked his work and crew so much that we had him install a enclosed sunroom at our new house in Folsom. Our next project involved installing a custom Trex deck out by our pool and patio. We had the deck retrofitted with blocking plates to accommodate a future patio cover. Due to our positive past dealings with Vern and New Dawn Awning Company, we knew he was the man for the job. This job, however, required a bit more than a regular install. We wanted a free standing aluminum patio cover, complete with porch lighting and a ceiling fan. To make a long story short, Vern took on the project and conquered it like a champ. We couldn't be happier. Vern and his crew arrived a day earlier to prep, then arrived promptly at 7 am the next morning to complete the install. I have included pictures for those that would like to see patio cover. Vern is the man. He takes pride in his work and his company. His crew works tireless to ensure that you are happy. You can't ask for more than that these days. If YELP had a top rated color star for their highest rated business', this company would have one next to their name. I must say, THIS BUSINESS IS THE EPITIMY OF WHAT A COMPANY SHOULD BE!!!!!!! In the last 6 months I have worked with numerous construction contractors ranging from pool installation companies to child gates installers,concrete installation companies to landscapers. Unlike every other company I have dealt with recently, New Dawn Awning Co. was headache and trouble free. After getting quite a few bids from other contractors I just happened to be at a friends residence and saw their newly installed awning. After talking with my friend he reffered me to New Dawn Awning Co. The following day I gave Vern a call and we set up an appointment to meet. Vern came out in a timely manner, on time and well prepared with samples. Following our conversation Vern furnished me with a phenomenal bid price. Seeing his work at my friends house along with the bid price, I signed on the dotted line without hesitation. A day or two later Vern sent over the plans along with all paperwork necessary to submit to Serrano HOA. After no issues with the paperwork or plans, I received the approval from the HOA and called Vern giving him the news. Vern then immediately submitted the plans to the County and a few weeks later called me back stating the plans had been approved. We agreed to install the following Monday morning. The crew of three showed up to my house at 8:00AM sharp and got right to work. Thinking it was going to be a three day minimum install, I was informed it would only take one day. The crew worked to no avail and completed the entire project including cleanup by 1:30PM.  The crew was clean, professional and pleasant to deal with. A few months back my wife and I were in search of a quality patio that could cover well over 50 ft of real estate.  We visited the home show at cal expo and came across two builders.  One (let's call them Frivolity First) which bum rushed us with a sales pitch that rivaled that of Oxi Clean.  The other, New Dawn Awning, a relaxed group of guys who let their pictures of workmanship speak for themselves.  We set appointments for each and to my disappointment the first company we met with gave us a quote of over $37,000 for the type of work we were looking for.  Their main reason for the high cost: the super high quality product they put out.  Unfortunately for them they didn't provide us with any samples of these so called "high quality" materials and could only point to three online pictures and big adjectives to prove it.  Furthermore, the person that met with us wasn't even a builder or contractor so he couldn't answer questions about the project.  I think he spent more time scratching his head, and sending text messages and pictures to a builder than with us. Next, New Dawn Awning.  Right off the bat, Corey came with multiple samples of their material along with colors, lots of pictures, and a boat load of knowledge on how he would build the patio based on code and what would look the best.  The kicker was when he said the project would cost less than a third of our first appointment.....Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!  He was a little surprised at our reaction, but when I told him what was offered previously he too was just as surprised.  Up until the project began, I was skeptical because of how good of a price he offered, but when he arrived with only one other person and erected an amazing patio in 10 hrs, I was sold. Last year we had to cut down 8 coastal redwoods that lined our small yard and provided much shade and privacy as they were getting too big for our yard and the roots were burrowing under our foundation.  Since then we have felt very exposed in our backyard with little privacy and minimal shade.  So this year we decided to get a patio cover to extend the built-in cover that came with the house. We contacted three companies based on their Yelp reviews and ratings and had each come out to provide an estimate.  Of the three companies, Vern at New Dawn Awnings had the lowest estimate by several hundred dollars.  The patio cover we were looking to get wasn't very large (approx. 7' x 24') so saving a few hundred dollars was a decent percentage of the overall price.  But it wasn't only the lower price that convinced us to go with New Dawn Awnings.  Of the three guys that came out, Vern seemed the most 'down to earth' and less of a 'salesman'.  I felt he not only knew what he was talking about, but actually had personal experience installing himself - so I knew that what he was telling me was coming from hands-on knowledge. The worst part of the job was waiting for our HOA to meet and approve our application for the work, but once that was done Vern was ready with the building permit and supplies to do the job a few days later.  The actual install only took about 4 hours and from what I can tell went very smoothly.  There were a couple times that the installer asked us question's to clarify something (placement of the poles, location of the downspout, quirkiness of our cement pad, etc.) and I was glad that they took the time to ask rather than make an assumption. In the end we love the patio cover and are already spending much more time in the backyard than before.  It provides just the right amount of shade without feeling overwhelming. The work is detailed and extremely well done, the crew did a great job and left my yard spotless (they hosed the area down and swept the side yard that they accessed to my back yard where the pergola was built).  I would have to say that in every way, they did the job as if it were their own personal pergola.  I haven't had the best luck dealing with contractors, but in this case, from the first visit, to the bid, to the contract, to working out scheduling with the other contractors doing my back yard, to doing impeccable work, to checking their work, and  to finishing, every step went smoothly, as promised to me, and with quality. He has a partnership with duraloom, witch is the best aluminum patio products that you can buy, he does not buy a crappy product and sell you a top notch product to gain financials, that's not how his business works. From the time he came to my front door to the time the pergola was built him and his crew were nothing but amazing. They were very clean, courteous, and listen to every detail I wanted in my patio. They even offered to out my fans up for free, when I only payed for two pre wires, Vern told me to have the boxes on the patio and his crew would assemble and put up my fans. He responded quicker than any of his competitors to provide an estimate; he provided excellent ideas regarding size of the cover and where to mount it on our home; and, it was installed earlier than projected.  Vern's installation crew, John and Bob, were also very professional and gracious while doing the work. The guys showed up promptly at 7:00 AM and were done with the installation and clean up by 1:00 in the afternoon. They even did their best to hide the electrical line for the socket and the ceiling fan. You talk about customer service!  Vernon Hayes, at New Dawn Awning Company came through for me!    Twenty three years ago, New Dawn put up my patio cover.  I still have the receipt from 23 years ago.  I called Vernon and explained who I was.  I needed to find the one by one ends caps for the patio cover. I had a few missing.  I had tried to find them myself without any luck.  I told Vernon what I needed and he said, "Once a customer, always a customer." He said he would look for the end caps.  It took some doing, since the structure was so old, but, he found them and brought them to me.  It was a whole bag of them, with no charge!  That is truly, EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE! Vern and his son were just here at my home securing a large piece of metal flashing that resides between my sunroom and an adjacent patio cover.  Twenty three years after it was installed by New Dawn Awning, the flashing had succumbed to the heavy winds of this past winter. The loose flashing wasn't creating a leak issue. Instead, it was the loud disruptive noise generated by the metal flexing and flapping in the wind that made me desperate to get the flashing secured. But who could I find to help? I didn't get any response from the handymen and roofers I contacted.  So, 23 years after it was installed, I called Vern. He immediately recognized it would be difficult for me to find someone to help with my problem. I wanted to have a patio cover built and got recommendations from 3 different friends, one of them used New Dawn Awning co and she showed me the video of it and we loved it. I called all 3 contractors on a Saturday and Vern was the first that called me back that following Monday. Although the others did finally call me back after over a week  I had already met with Vern and after talking with him I could tell by his knowledge that he's had a lot experience and I felt so confident I did not call back the other contractors. The men that came to install were very professional, respectful and kind. They made something that could've been stressful for us, very easy and smooth. I was able to take pictures and document the process with excitement instead of stress and worry. They even cleaned up their mess and didn't damage anything. Vern was really good to work with. He's a straight-shooter kinda guy with a wry sense of humor, which works great for me. His company is understandably very busy during the summer, so we had to wait a few months for the job to be performed, but that was fine with us. As long as it was before the rain set in, we were good. Our existing wooden patio cover had to be torn down, then the new aluminum one put up in its place. Amazingly, the crew was able to tear down the old one (22X13) AND put up the new one all in the same day. Johnny and the crew were polite and agreeable to work with, and whenever they had questions or needed to inform us of something, they did so respectfully and with clarity. (For example, where the new support posts would be placed.) Well worth the Covid hiccup wait with Vern. He did our initial patio install about seven years ago and we found the business through a recommendation. Happy with the work we called to have an extension done. Delay issues with supply problems but Vern kept us posted. Finally had it installed and it looks wonderful. My recent experience with Vern and his crew reaffirmed the great choice we made four year's ago when had him install our patio cover and fans, which we enjoy to this very day. I recently contracted a company, which also happens to be a competitor of New Dawn Awning, to instal motorized vertical drop shades to the patio cover as Vern does not sell or install such shades. During the installation process of the drop shades the installer damaged an electrical wire inside of the patio cover. The other company's installer asserted that the electrical wiring on the patio cover might have been defective or improperly installed and advised that they could not finish the job until the issue was fixed. At that point I contacted Vern to inform him of the situation and to see if he would inspect the issue. Despite being booked for months, Vern and his son went to my house within a couple of hours of my call and quickly identified the issue - that the other company's installer had damaged the electrical wiring. Upon learning that it was the other company's fault Vern was under no obligation to fix the issue, however, he replaced the damaged electrical wiring because he cared and because of a sense of ensuring his customers are taken care of. He also took the time to inform and educate the other company's installer and owner of the damage that they had done. Not only did Vern's actions save me time and fixed the issue, he save me (hundreds of dollars that I would have had to spend to hire an electrician to identify and fix the damage the other company had done. The New Dawn Awning team of 4 installers have obviously worked together for quite a while and built our rather large Patio Cover surprisingly quickly.   One of the best things that they did was to confer with us at each step concerning height, post placement, fan placement, outlet placement, and other things.  They were great to work with and I would happily recommend them to anybody. What can I say, I love Vern and my new patio cover!  It looks so amazing. I truly don't know why I have waited so long to get the awning I have always wanted which now allows us to enjoy the outside all year round.  I am super excited to sit under my cool awning with the mounted ceiling fan without the sun beating down on us and I'm already planning my fire pit and cozy couches for the winter.  Just a side note that I bought the ceiling fan from Costco and after installing it they discovered the remote didn't work. We were very happy with the job that Vern and his crew did.  They installed a 15' x 40' solid insulated patio cover over a second story deck.  We were replacing an old lattice cover, reusing a set of posts and beam - as well as performing some roof repair before the new cover was installed.  In addition, we had some special requirements on how to attach the cover to the roof.  Vern worked well with us and the roofer to make everything come together. His crew was absolutely excellent, interactive, and respectful of our house and property. If I could give Vern and New Dawn Awning more stars I would- he goes above and beyond. I noticed some outlets stopped working two weeks ago and couldn't figure out how to fix it. Builder wouldn't even look at it because we had the patio cover installed. Vern came out twice, the second time with Corey and Johnny, and spent an hour looking for the problem- which turned out to be an outlet I installed where the wires weren't stripped long enough. I had my awning installed and I absolutely love it.  It was everything I wanted.  It looks beautiful and it was in the price range I could afford. What a transformation for our home!  Our lattice patio cover was just completed and we could not be more pleased with the end result. From beginning to end, Vern and his team were the best. You cant find a better company then New Dawn Awning to install your patio cover. We had New Dawn install two patio covers on our house, because unfortunately the first cover that was installed developed a warranty issue a few weeks after the install. Most importantly the defective cover didn't become an issue because all we had to do was make one  phone call and the New Dawn crew was back within a couple weeks to install a full replacement cover under warranty. Also we were very impressed with Duralum the manufacturer of the patio cover that was installed by New Dawn Awning. Its obvious that they stand behind their product. There was never a question about our issue and the attitude was 'how quickly can we fix it'. Which for us resulted in a brand new replacement cover with no questions asked.

After checking on Yelp, I called New Dawn Awning and had Vern come out to give us a bid.  He is a wonderful person to deal with and as honest as the day is long.  He gave us the strait skinny on the products and the instillation.  His crew is top notch, friendly and willing to do what ever needed to get the job done and done right.  Vern took care of getting the building permit, worked with us on timing to install the awing.  We couldn't be more happy with the entire company and the product they installed for us. Vern   at New Dawn  Awning helped us out with a problem with the city even though we were the second owner after the patio cover was installed over 5 years ago .The patio cover was installed perfectly. New Dawn Awning was by far the best contracting experience I hope to always have. Vern was an awesome guy to work with and his sense of humor made the whole process enjoyable! I was even having problems with another contractor at the same time and Vern would even take the time to consult me on how to deal with that contractor since I hadn't had a lot of experience dealing with contractors. Vern was always prompt on his appointments and always went out of his way to make sure you were happy. Their workers were also very professional and courteous. They were quick, efficient, respectful, and always cleaned up after themselves. In the end their quality and workmanship were second to none and we are very pleased and happy with our patio cover. I don't know where to begin- so let me start by saying IF YOU NEED A PATIO COVER...STOP LOOKING! YOU HAVE FOUND THE COMPANY!  Get on their busy calendar.  This company is beyond exceptional.  They were a referral from our neighbor.  I typically get several bids for big purchases like this, but this was an exception.  After meeting the owner and getting a bid we were sold, no more bids necessary.  He was genuine and didn't try to upsell us on anything, in fact he told us what we shouldn't spend our money on.  Really?!?  Does that ever happen?? Fast forward to the day of the installation.  Crew arrived on time. SUPER nice guys!!  They had great attention to detail and made sure all my needs and wants were met perfectly.  They even installed a BIG outdoor fixture I made (pics to follow). Exceeded my expectations!  They worked ALL day long and stayed late so the Big job would be installed in just one day.  Happy homeowner to say the least!  They cleaned up their mess beautifully and left us with a beautiful new outdoor living space! We are VERY VERY satisfied customers and would give the company and all of the guys a zillion thumbs up is the star rating system allowed.  Blessed beyond words! Every great review is right about New Dawn Awning. Simply the best guys to install your new patio cover. But even beyond great work, great pricing, patience, friendly, and expert team...New Dawn Awning actually stands behind what they do! TWO YEARS after installing my large patio cover, I came across a big problem, not with my actual patio cover and not at the fault of New Dawn Awning. So I called up Vern to ask him if he could help me with a special problem. Not only did he come out quickly to take care of my special request in two visits, but at no charge to me - and he did not have to do that! If you are on the fence about who should build your cover, I can tell you that you will be "covered" by going with New Dawn Awning. Having a company that will be there years later in case something is needed is a rare find these days. We are very happy we went with New Dawn Awning and we are very happy with our patio cover. These folks installed two patio covers for me last week and I couldn't be happier.  I got bids from three different companies and Vern's bid was thousands below the other two.  On the day the covers were installed, three guys showed up just before 8 in the morning and had the covers finished and things cleaned up by lunch. He did give the best quote and he's the neighborhood favorite for awnings, but these were not the reasons we hired him. We hired him because we never once got the feeling that we were just another job, and because of the level of professionalism and respect in our dealings. We are happy we did! We got a courtesy call to remind us of the appointment. On the day of, the crew showed up right on time. They were polite and took their shoes off when they came in the house. There are a lot of patio cover companies in the area.  We had several come out and bid on our backyard project.  New Dawn was the friendliest with the most reasonable price.  They completed the project expediently and the overhang looks fantastic!  We have since referred them to two other neighbors who had the same great experience. Just finished our large patio cover from New Dawn Awning.  it is beautiful and adds so much living space to our home.  We will be able to use the area in all types of weather. We were skeptical about aluminum that looks like wood, but that is not an issue.  A plus will be no maintenance! Simply put, Vern and his crew are the BEST! We discovered New Dawn at Sacramento's Lawn and Garden expo. We were initially attracted to a base-line aluminum that looks like wood patio cover with a solid roofing to keep out the rain. But we were really happy with the owners flexible schedule, willingness to come out and give quotes and create a product we liked for our home. We ended up getting an all-weather style patio awning on one side, a more traditional pergola with slats on the other side and a small pergola with a screen to put near our spa. The neighbors were impressed with the first two, but I assume very upset they won't see our spa action any longer. The construction was fast and the workers were friendly and English-speaking. I'm really impressed with how the aluminum looks just like stained wood, even close up. Some of the photos in the company's look book seem suspect...I mean, I don't live in an RV, so I don't need a trailer park patio cover.
